Child Cancer Patient Care Department of THE CHILD HEALTH FOUNDATION (TCHF) renders a wide variety of help on the emotional, financial and medical fronts to Child Cancer patients. TCHF aims to identify and bridge the gaps to ensure best treatment, care and support to children with cancer. It builds capacity and empowers child cancer patients, survivors and their parents, as well as Social Support Teams working in the field of childhood cancer.
The journey starts with a Team of counsellor's and Volunteer visit to the hospital or patient's home. Our team of experienced and professional counsellors and Volunteer act as main catalysts in making treatment effective.
As a family support group, TCHF team works Patient Navigators & Advocates to provide the entire spectrum of support services to children with cancer and their families, from the moment of diagnosis through treatment and after into survivorship on the one hand and relapse, palliation, terminal care and bereavement support on the other. This includes medical support, hospital programs, educational support, emotional and psychological support, nutritional, accommodation and other logistical support, information, awareness and advocacy. The medical support program in particular aims to ensure that no child suffers for lack of treatment for want of finance.
THE CHILD HEALTH FOUNDATION (TCHF) Vision for Child Cancer Patient includes the following: Best possible treatment and care; building bridges between medical professionals and families; sharing information and experience; accessing advances in treatment from around the world.
